Dr. Roger Wågsjö, IM's lead professor, and international opera singer, has performed for Carl XVI Gustaf and Silvia, the king and queen of Sweden, has sung at opera houses in Stockholm as lead tenor, and has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, and at the Musikhögskolan in Göteborg.

Dr. Roger earned his first doctoral degree in violoncello performance and pedagogy, after having studied with Guido Vecchi and Alexander Wittenberg at Musikögskolan in Göteborg, Sweden, and Arto Noras, Professor at Sibelius Akadademin, in Helsinki, Finland. Later he also had the privilege to study under such notables as Gregor Piatigorski, Paul Tortelier, and Mstislav Rostropovich. He also played chamber music with many world known soloist like Knut Hovalt, Bengt Eklund, and Edward Tarr, and also with professional orchestras both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Roger has also a doctorate in voice that was earned as his studied with Rut Jacobsson at Musikhögskolan in Göteborg and with Court singer Erik Saeden at Kungliga Musikhögskolan (Royal Music Conservatory) in Stockholm. He also studied drama, acting, and opera singing for three years at Operahögskolan in Stockholm Sweden. After which that he also studied under Maestro Luigi Ricci in Rome Italy, and His favorite Opera singer and teacher, the world famous tenor, Nicolai Gedda in Stockholm Sweden. He has taught voice both in the USA and Europe and has been employed at Operahögskolan in Stockholm and Musikhögskolan in Göteborg as a Professor and singer, and has sung in both opera productions and concerts all over the world.

Throughout the United States, Europe, and Latin America, Dr. Roger frequently performs in, directs, and produces operas, opera-concerts, and concerts, with bel canto singing being the emphasis.

Dr. Roger has over 30 years experience as a university professor and private studio teaching. Of the masterclasses and private lessons which he provides, many of his vocal students are professional opera singers from the U.S., South America, Europe, and Asia. Dr. Roger is currently producing another opera album featuring famous arias from works by Händel, Mozart, Puccini, Donizetti, etc.

Professor Michelle Wågsjö, instructor in violin and voice, acquired her master's degree in music performance at Högskolan för Scen och Musik in Göteborg, Sweden. She also obtained undergraduate music studies at Southern Methodist University where she studied violin with Ronald Neal, Director of the Dallas Chamber Orchestra. In Sweden, Prof. Michelle studied violin with Ingrid Sjönnemo and Per Enoksson, two concertmasters of the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, in addition to Harold Thedéen and Karl-Ove Mannberg in Stockholm.

Vocal coaches include Birgitta Bergström (mezzo-soprano) and Otto Kern (former conductor of the Gothenburg opera). Her life-long coach, however, has been her father, Dr. Roger.

Prof. Michelle actively performs as a concert violinist and coloratura soprano both in the U.S. and Europe with many internationally known artists. She is currently performing in concerts with pianist, and 2009 Grammy Award Nominee, Bengt Forsberg--who in turn works alongside renowned mezzo-soprano, Anne Sofie von Otter.

For over 15 years, Prof. Michelle has been assistent to her father, Dr. Roger, in teaching and co-managing International Musik.

Professor Michael Wågsjö completed his Masters degree in Music Pedogogy at the University of Aarhus in Denmark, Music Conservatory. His repertoire and experience includes various genre from solo and ensemble works for baroque trumpet to solo and orchestral works for Twenty-First Century trumpet. In Denmark, Prof. Michael studied with Kristian Steenstrup--a highly esteemed teacher of professional brass players and who gives master-classes to brass sections in London Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic--and world-renowned trumpet-soloist, Reinhold Fredrich.

Prior to Denmark, professor Michael, studied with Leonard Candelaria at the University of North Texas, baroque trumpeter, Niklas Eklund at the Université Laval in Québec, Canada, his father, Bengt Eklund in Sweden, and Tom Booth from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Professor Michael has been working with Dr. Roger in teaching brass, woodwind, string, and piano for over 15 years.
